The Trump administration has announced a temporary suspension of sanctions on Russian diesel imports. This decision follows negotiations between President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, with the Russian leader pledging to supply significant volumes of fuel to international markets. The move is intended to mitigate record-high diesel prices in the United States, which have been exacerbated by the conflict with Iran and recent strikes on Russian refinery infrastructure. President Trump expressed optimism that this supply increase, combined with American control over the Strait of Hormuz, will lead to a substantial reduction in fuel costs for consumers ahead of the upcoming midterm elections. The administration is actively seeking ways to stabilize energy markets as inflationary pressures continue to impact the American electorate.
