Poland's oldest active electric multiple-unit train, a 63-year-old vehicle affectionately known as "Babcia" (Granny), is set to resume passenger service following a renovation. Officially designated as EN57-038, the train was manufactured in May 1963 at the state-owned Pafawag factory in Wrocław. For several decades, the vehicle operated in the southern Małopolska region, connecting cities such as Kraków, Tarnów, and Nowy Sącz. In 2003, the historic train was relocated to the Masovia province, which surrounds the capital city of Warsaw.
